Bill Wasch Honored at Aging in America Conference

ITNCentralCT™ Board Co-Chair Receives Sid Spector Award

Bill Wasch, board co-chair of ITNCentralCT, received the Sid Spector Award from the National Institute of Senior Housing during last month’s Aging in America conference in Chicago.

Bill has had a long and wide-ranging career in elderly services and is a nationally recognized author of Home Planning for Your Later Years. With his architect daughter, he designed and built the first-of-its-kind completely accessible house for older persons, winning him the 1999 Best of Senior Housing Award from the National Association of Homebuilders. He has also developed the Adapt Your Home Program and Senior Serve Company to support older adults to “age in place.”

Bill has a remarkable record of community service. In addition to three years of volunteer leadership with ITNCentralCT, Bill is a former delegate to the White House Conference on Aging and has been both a board and executive committee member of The National Council on Aging. For over twelve years, Bill has chaired his hometown’s Senior Affairs Commission and he currently serves on the Leadership Council of the National Council on Aging.
